EXHORTATION Tarotists and All Men and Women of Good Will, Greetings!
Long, long ago the Divine Fifi-Ho-Tep-Trismegista, blessings be upon Her Name, in the form of a poodle, journeyed from a very faraway star called Arcturus to this world. Upon arrival, She befriended a band of malnourished, worldly, and often inebriated Egyptian priests, for whom She felt very sorry. In her mercy She bestowed upon them the hitherto unknown Pristine Tarot etched on golden tablets with Her Enlightened Commentary recorded in hieroglyphics. She patiently taught the priests the mysteries of interpreting both these precious gifts.

For millennia the pure wisdom of the Divine Fifi, blessings be upon Her name, was preserved and handed down from adept to adept. But lo, today our common, tawdry Tarot is a sad shadow, ghastly ghost, and crass corruption of Her Pristine Tarot.
To begin ever so gradually to restore our corrupted Tarot to its original state, the Divine Fifi, blessings be upon Her Name, has mercifully dictated, through me, Her prophet, The Pictorial Key to the The Tarot of the King of Cups in Tatters (Being Fragments of a Secret Tradition Under the Veil of Parody). Similarly, the Divine Fifi, blessings be upon Her Name, has mercifully created, through me a companion deck appropriately titled The Tarot of the King of Cups in Tatters, with which Her Pictorial Key is lavishly illustrated.
Gentle reader, in the name of the Divine Fifi, blessings be upon Her Name, I exhort you to read, study, and contemplate both these profound works now.
